Kansai brutality
What are the last news in INFERNAL REVULSION camp?
Hi Strom!! Thank you for interviewing us!! It is a great honor. We came back from the US shows which included NY,NJ,PA and Cali deathfest. All the shows were great, met lots of cool people and got to play with the bands that we always looked up to. It was just an amazing experience going to States to play music. Now we were able to spread the Kansai brutality we can hopefully link it to our future!! Now, we are back in studio working on our new material and planning to hit the studio for the next piece in early next year.

Your debut was released after 3 years from formation of INFERNAL REVULSION. Have you released some demo stuff? Where did you get know-how?
Our debut album was out after 1year and half of formation. what we did was we recorded our 1st single after 3 month of formation and what really lifted us up was when we played at Tokyo Deathfest 2006 and that was our second show ever. We got to perform in front of alot of brutal fans and also the bands from Japan and overseas. Andres the founder of Goregiastic Records came up to me after the show and asked if we want to release the 1st album from there label and it was just an straight answer.YES!! so I guess the Tokyo Deathfest really opened us up!!!

You sing ultra deeply, how is it possible? Do you use some efects or eat something on vocal chords?
Thank you for that!! I still got to practice more thou!hahaha!! I'm never satisfied with my gutturals. All I do is, image and view how I want to sound in my mind and just let it out. With anger and frustration from the daily grinds. I never use effects on my vocals.never!!ll natural bro.

Seems that you like very much NY brutal scene and mainly SUFFOCATION. Has the originality some importance to you?
Yeah, we very much like the death metal bands from east coast, not just suffocation, bands like cannibal corpse, internal bleeding, pyrexia, dying fetus and skinless etc...
We are aiming to create infernal revulsion sounds through the influences of all those legendary bands in base. We like to mix our sound with variety of brutal music.mainly with new school death metal and old school death metal and also with thrash metal and hard core.

Do you like band INTESTINE BAALISM? It is said they revived just now. Which other bands can you recommend from Japan?
Yes we played with them in the past and we play with Butcher ABC alot which the drummer from IB play. I think they're working on the new album now. There are lots of great bands in Japan now.
All the bands you'll already know like Disconformity, woundeep, defiled and maybe the bands you don't know yet like Amygdara, blunt force trauma, gorevent.

Are you responsible for lyrics? Do you take them just for fun or more seriously?
Yeas I write the lyrics. I do want to be on the serious subject and sound serious as well.but not satisfied with the previous work....
I am working on it right now and it's sounding much better than any lyrics I worked on before.

Suppose you haven't played much live shows. Have you played also abroad?
We have played alot of shows. We have toured nationally through the main capitols. We have been playing average of every second weekend for the last 2 years, and like I mentioned at the start we just came back from the states tour.

Your style is orthodox enough also within the frame of death metal. It is surely connected with negative reactions. Have you read your review on site www.globaldomination.se? You have given only 2 out of 10.
Yeah, it's orthodox if you say so, but that was our first aim to form the band, we got together to play deathmetal and I guess it's kinda hard to create something very new in this limited genre. And about the low recomendation of the album, it's always good to hear the negative reacions and read about what the people feel about. Always getting praised if unrealistic y'know.

How will be the new CD look like? Is there some difference opposite debut album? Do you have name for it by now?
I definately want our next material to show the  progression and improvements in all areas. 2 new songs are already showing different approach by technical and quality wise. It <http://wise.it> also contains old school death metal and thrash metal vives to it but still keeping the slamming brutality. We don't have a name for it yet but 2 new songs are titled 'Contemptious Corruption' and 'Moral Decays'

Your sound is very raw and brutal as old INTERNAL BLEEDING. Are you satisfied with it? Are you going to record in the same studio? Do you think the sound of CD is important for fans?
Thank you for the compliment. Internal Bleeding are my all time favourite, it's a great honor to be similized with the bands we look up to. But the sound production of our 1st album is far from satisfaction. I realize now looking back at the time of recording, we were lack of knowledge of creating fat solid brutal sound in all areas. Offcourse the sound is important to the fans. Sound quality differs the quality of the whole album. But I'm confident and looking forward to hit the studio for the sound production for our next work. I gained so many ideas from the US tour which we are already trying out few different settings in guitar amps.

What's the situation with death metal in Japan? Do people going to concerts? It's very poor over here as for new generation of death metal fans.....
It's not big at all but there are lots of cool bands to respect like Vomit Remnants, Disconformity, woundeep etc..average turn out to death metal shows would be about 100~120. I'm so excited about the fact 2 bands from Kansai are going to start playing shows early next year! Till now we were the only active brutal death metal band in Kansai. I believe that Kansai Brutality will grow fast and strong in few years.

What are your lyrics about? Where is your source of inspiration? Do you think people are interested in them and reading them?
I always be on perticular subject instead of singing about killing and gore. My lyrics are about our nation, politics and human morality. Even thou it's hard to hear what your singing about in guttural vocal style, but I enjoy reading lyrics and feel the atmosphere of the band and I guess lot of people are same too.
Lyrics on 2 new songs are far better and interesting than our previous works by getting help by my bro in NY Anthony! His my adviser on lyrics!

Which bands do you like as for lyrics? What is your view to lyrics of CANNIBAL CORPSE or BROKEN HOPE?
I'm very influenced by suffocation and Dying Fetus lyrics. And I love Cannibal Corpse but no so much into the lyrics...

Is there some difference between live shows in JPN and USA? Would you like to live in USA?
There are lots of differences in live shows. In Japan, no matter how small the venue is, there is sound check for all the bands, equipments are all set up, lighting staffs are operating. It's more like a concert. And the how the crowds enjoy themselves are different, which I think it comes from different culture.there are only few people that are drunk. It's harder to get people fired up but when they do go crazy, they really do.
Where in US people are enjoying themselves freely. It's hard to explain but most of the international bands say that Japanese crowds go silence between the songs.

Who is responsible for the main frames of your tracks? What do you lay biggest stress upon at song writing?
I mostly wrote the 1st album tracks and Mass-T also writes songs too. I come up with big piture of the song and few riffs, then we jam together and transform it into infernal style.
Biggest stress is when it just doesn't come out. It's fast when it's fast but when it's not there, it's not there. But we're travelling well at the moment working on the 3rd new song.

Do you have some view to selling of your CDs? How many pieces have you done?
We got 400 copies and now we only have few left. I don't know how many the label sold thou.
